Around Italy with Kiko

I just spent a whole with with my friend Kiko Loureiro, I planned a clinic tour for him across Italy.
Kiko is a very unique player, he’s a very talented heavy rock artist but he always amazes me with his brazilian influences. I alwaya ask him to play Mana de Carnaval with his tapping technique, it sounds great!
Traveling with him is always a pleasure, we talk about million things, now he just became a father, so we have one more thing in common to talk about ;-)
I’m gonna meet him at Namm next January, but I really hope to work again with him soon!

On tour with Andy

I made some clinics with my friend Andy Timmons last week. It’s always such a plaesure for me hangin’ out with him, he’s so nice and easy going.
I was excited about his new release “Andy Timmons Band Plays Sgt Pepper” and I was blown away by the way he arranged his view of this great Beatles album.
He’s now totally on the “just one guitar” way of recording so his ability to fill every space with his amazing tone is now really incredible! You should get that CD if you love music!
I read Steve Lukather said this is the best guitar album of the last ten years, but maybe more...well, I think he’s right!
The pleasure you get listening to it is unique, Andy is absolutely “mr Tone” in my opinion. I hope to listen to him live soon. I think Andy is really lucky being able to express himself that way with his feeling, musicality, technique and tone!

I have officially a new addiction ;-)I found out these bikes made in Italy, they’re fuckin’ great!
Just the concept I like, an engine and two wheels...
Time to sell some guitars :-)

Italian Clinics with Jason Bittner

Just came back after a couple of clinics with Jason Bittner, Shadows Fall drummer.
It was a real blast, Jason is really powerful and his double bass drumming is great!
We’ve been to Naples at the Acustica Drum Store, very nice place, the clinic was properly organized and we had 100 people there.
The day after we’ve benn to Milan at Percussion Village store, nice clinic as well!
I hope to meet Jason soon, maybe for other clinics, stay tuned!

Guitar Day 7

I performed with Strings24 at the Guitar Day 7 @ Rock’n’Roll in Rho on June 11th, it was a real blast!
We presented officiale the new album Speak and we palyed 5 songs from this new release. It has been a very successful gig!
On the same stage there were performances of great players as Dave Martone, Alex Masi and Marty Friedman and also a lot of Italian guys. I was really impressed by Marco Sfogli, a great mix between amazing technique and great sense of melody!
The festival went great, every gig was perfectly on time and nobody had any tech problem!
Hope to go there in 2012 as well!
